Google meetings

 Hey Bloggers 

So becasue lockdown came out of nowhere our class has to go on google meetings to keep up with our school work. This was only my 2nd google meeting I,ve been on because I missed I few but it was cool because there were way more people from my class on this meeting then there where on the last meeting I whent on. Mr Sa also said that if we can get everone from our class on the google meetings that he will shout us something when we get back to school.He also said somthing about a spinning wheel if we get all of our homework done! There is also ging to be a talent contest between room 5 (my class room ) and room 8 but  I think that I will leave that up to the outher people in my class

Museum trip!

Hey bloggers 

 So class by class in my school we got to go to the museum and yesterday it was room fives trun ( My class ) So when we got into the museum this guy called Aaron, greeted us. We lerend more sutff about war and a cool fact that I lerned was that even slugges played a big part in war because slugges could detect gas in the trenches way way faster then any technology. The slugs would curl up into a ball and thats how the soldiers wolud know so slugs saved people lives I know cool right. Afterwoods we whent onto a room with boxes that had red fabric over it and underneath was cool war stuff like soldiers uniform ,caned food that they ate in the war, funny soldiers hats, old war weapons and grenades it was really fun to hold all of the stuff and play around with it. Next we got to look around the museum at whatever. My favourite part of the museum was problely be the volcano display in the vlocano room but a part in the museum that was extremely sad was a little room with telephones and pictures in it my techer told us that the room was about when Hitler put the jews into concentration camps. He said that the jews thought that they were going to a normal camp to be like looked after and stuff but they were definitely not. They told them to have a shower and the jews like took off there clothes and everything fulling espeting to just have a normal shower but instead of water coming out gas came out and the gas kill them all. They also throu the jews into a big furnace thay literally burned them alive Horrible right. But on a good note here are some photos of me and my frinds at the museum...

The Mt Vesuvius Eruption!

 Hey bloggers 

For inquiry me and my friends had to chouse what we whanted to do for our create in inquiry it had to be about war. We desided so make Mt Vesuvius. What does Mt Vesuvius have to do with war you might be thinking well it erupted during ww2 and killed 80 bomers apart of the US army air force. So me and my frends got a bottle and put togeter scrunched up peices of newspaper around it in the shape of a volcano and then paper mache it with some more newspaper then after it had dryed we panted it wite so that it would look better when we pant it for real. We haveint panted it for real yet but on the day we will put baking soda and vinegar in the bottle and it will make a little eruption!

nurses who helped in the war!

 Hey bloggers 

this week in my class we were lerning about what part the nurses had in war. We read many texts about the nurses healping people in war and 
risking there own lifes for the solders . todays text was about this nurse called Ethel lewis she broke her arm when carrying a man on her back while having a frostbitten knee Ethel also saved a serbian officer while having a shrapnel wound. She was an amazing lady.

We also had to wite a thank you letter to the nurses here is mine!

We learned about the dawn raids (sad)

 Hey blogger's, 

We learned about the dawn raids. What are the dawn raids you might be thinking? Well basically 50 years ago in new zealand polynesian people got treated horribly just for being another Skin colour, I know sad right. Anyways, The Police would raid there houses and look for overstayers the police would make it sound like they had the most overstayers when really it was country's like England, South America and Canada so this was just a racist move. At school we whached a video about it. Here is a link!- Video! 



There was also a group called the polynesian panthers that where peaceful protesters trying to get people to treat them how they should be treated. Above are some pictures of them protesting.

Samoan Language Week Interview!


 Hey bloggers 

last week it was samoan  language week we did some really cool things to celebrate it like we lernt how to count in samoan and we also had some samoan food. Lastly roon 5 had to do a calss itim so me and my  frinds did a interview. So bayically we whent around the school and and asked techers questions all to do with samoan language week. Questions like whats your favoirt samoan food, have you ever been to samoa and so on. but the chach was we had to say all of the questions in samoan. Anyways we vidoed it as well and showed it to the school in assembly it was cool.

Here is my propaganda poster!

 Hey bloggers so  we had to do a propaganda poster. So we basically had to make a poster trying to get people to joion the Nz army like if a war was going on or something.We could ether do it digital or physical I did mine digitally. Mine is really simple
